Trojans open with a 36-20 win over Berwick

North Pocono opened at Trojan Stadium and beat Berwick 36-20. The Times-Tribune has Cole West returning a kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown after Berwick’s first kickoff sailed out of bounds, and Joe Briskie scoring from 6 yards. It was 14-0 with 8:58 left in the first quarter. Jayden Taylor scored from 1 yard, Henry Wolff recovered a fumble in the end zone, and Shane Youngblood kicked a 47-yard field goal. The half ended 30-0.

Briskie finished with 149 yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns. Berwick closed to 30-20 with 4:44 left, and Briskie scored from 2 yards with 1:28 left. Brayden Cleaver had 217 passing yards and a touchdown and 145 rushing yards and a touchdown. Taylor had six tackles and five for loss. Berwick had 63 yards on 23 plays in the first half. Aug. 22 against Shamokin was a scrimmage.
