North Pocono vs Dallas Football Rivalry

Dallas leads 2-1

On Nov. 11, 2021, before that night’s District 2 Class 4A semifinal, the Citizens’ Voice wrote that Dallas led the series, 2-1. The schools had met three times before that night, one of them a playoff. In Rich Mannello’s seven seasons at Dallas, the Mountaineers had never played North Pocono. The last meeting on that line was Dallas 21-14 in 2009. North Pocono was 9-2. Dallas was 8-2. The winner was to play Valley View or Berwick for the championship. Greg Dolhon was printed that day at 50-53 in his 10th season. Mannello was 53-36 in his seventh.

North Pocono won that night, 41-26, at Dallas. The Times-Tribune said the Trojans rushed for 330 yards. On the first play after a Dallas punt, a flea-flicker from Will Soma to Dan Smith went 41 yards for a touchdown. Soma had 164 yards and a score, Blaine 149 and a score, and Korry Eisley three touchdowns on 19 yards. North Pocono scored on its first four possessions and led 27-14 at half.

On Nov. 5, 2025, before that Friday’s District 2 Class 4A final, NEPA Football printed the series tied, 3-3, with the last meeting North Pocono 35-14 in 2025. Dallas was 6-5. North Pocono was 10-1. The preview said that in the earlier meeting Dallas went down the field on its opening drive and North Pocono stopped the Mountaineers in the red zone, and that it was North Pocono after that. The district final was 38-6 on Nov. 7 at home.

The paper said three meetings came before Nov. 11, 2021.

The Oct. 26, 2000, Times Leader says Dallas lost 41-34 in overtime to North Pocono the previous Saturday. Dallas was 6-2.
