West Scranton closes the regular season at Trojan Stadium
The regular-season finale is Oct. 30 at Trojan Stadium, kickoff 7, and it counts in Division I. It comes after Friday at Wallenpaupack. North Pocono is 7-1 and 4-1 going into that game.
The Times-Tribune’s Oct. 15 notes had West Scranton at 2-5 before the Bell game, after a 2-0 start against Hazleton Area and Carbondale Area and then five straight losses. The week 8 scoreboard has West Scranton winning that game, 19-6, over Scranton. MaxPreps, updated Oct. 19, lists the Invaders 3-5 overall and 1-4 in Lackawanna 1. Their Friday game is at home against Delaware Valley, so the record North Pocono will see on Oct. 30 is not on those pages yet.
In 2019 the Times-Tribune led its opener story with a 42-6 North Pocono win over No. 4 West Scranton at Trojan Stadium. Dolhon said that night was about avenging two 2018 losses, including a 31-27 District 2 Class 4A playoff game at West Scranton.
The same Oct. 16 column had West Scranton receiver Kaz Colbert with three catches for 81 yards against Valley View, and 31 receptions for 483 yards and three touchdowns on the season. Friday’s game at Wallenpaupack still has no result, and neither does Oct. 30.
