NORTH POCONOTROJANS

Head coach

Jason Sepkowski

2007–2011. Record 19-33.

Jason Sepkowski was the coach Dolhon replaced. The hiring story gives him five seasons and a 19-33 record, and The Times-Tribune Coach of the Year award in 2009.

That 2009 team shared the Lackawanna Football Conference Division I title and reached the District 2 Class AAA playoffs. It was not a district championship. North Pocono also made the District 2 playoffs in 2010, with wins that year over Dunmore, Berwick, and Valley View. The Oct. 16 Times-Tribune story is a 49-8 win at Scranton Memorial Stadium. The Oct. 30 story is a 39-6 win at Honesdale.

The five MaxPreps seasons that add to 19-33 are 2007 through 2011: 2-8, 2-8, 9-2, 6-5, and 0-10.

The 2016 flashback calls him a standout lineman on the 1991 team. He won the Hookey Reap award as Lackawanna County’s outstanding offensive lineman in 1992. Sean Whitelavich won the offensive award in 1991, and Keith Olsommer won the defensive award that year. The 2026 Hookey Reap winners list prints the same 1991 and 1992 lines. An Aug. 24, 2013, Times-Tribune story and an Oct. 20, 2021, story both say he played at Pittsburgh. That playing career is on his alumni page.

On Sept. 25, 2009, his third season, fifth-ranked North Pocono beat No. 3 Wallenpaupack 14-13 at Hawley and moved to 4-0. The Times-Tribune said that 4-0 doubled the win total of the previous two seasons combined.

The Dec. 7, 2023, Times-Tribune story on Matt Nawrocki’s hiring at Wallenpaupack also names Sepkowski, with Dolhon, among the North Pocono coaches who influenced him.
